How Digital Ark AS collects, uses, and protects personal data.

2. What data we collect

We collect personal data in the following situations:

  • Contact form: name, email address, subject, and message when you send us an enquiry.
  • Language preference: your preferred display language is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

We do not use any tracking or analytics tools, and we set no third-party cookies.

3. Purpose and legal basis

  • Contact form: data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Language preference: necessary to serve the site in your preferred language. Legal basis: strictly necessary for functionality.

4. Data processors

We use the following sub-processors that may handle personal data on our behalf:

  • Resend (resend.com) — email delivery for contact form submissions. A data processing agreement is in place.
  • Vercel — hosting of the SNAKKE application.

Personal data from the contact form is not transferred outside the EEA without appropriate safeguards in place.

5. Retention

Contact form enquiries are retained only as long as necessary to respond to them — typically deleted within 12 months. Language preference remains in your browser until you clear it manually.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your data.
  • Restriction: request that processing of your data is restricted.
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object: object to processing based on legitimate interest.

7. Supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe we are processing your personal data in breach of GDPR.
